FAQS
If you have a light vehicle (vehicles with GVM less than 4.5 tonnes), you can choose between a 6 month or 12 month term.
As long as you pay for both the CTP Insurance and registration within 21 days of the due date, you can choose a 6 month term for the renewal of your CTP.
If it’s been more than 21 days since your registration was due, you can only choose the 12 month period, unless there are ‘extenuating circumstances’ for us to accept the late payment.
You can manage your NSW CTP Green Slip online. You can register or log into GIO My Account to pay or edit your policy details including renewal term, driver details and driving history.
Payment will reach TfNSW within:
- 1 hour, if you pay online, by phone, or at a GIO Agency
- 2 business days, if you pay at an Australia Post Office
When you change your address with Service NSW, it will automatically update your CTP.
Once you acquire a new vehicle, it’s important to complete a change of ownership with Service NSW to transfer the registration into your name.
CTP Green Slip prices cannot be discounted.
The best way to figure out how much your CTP Green Slip premium will be is to get an obligation-free quote.
