Insurance or Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance
Our insurance provides access to emergency medical and travel assistance. This includes assistance with:
- Overseas medical treatment
- Payment of hospital bills
- Evacuation or repatriation
- Assistance when passports, travel documents or credit cards are lost or stolen
- Assistance with rescheduling travel arrangements as a result of an emergency
- Cover for costs associated with the services are subject to a claim being accepted under the policy
A single policy covers you and one child or grandchild under the age of 21 accompanying you on the trip.
A family policy covers you, your husband, wife or de-facto partner and your children or grandchildren, under the age of 21 travelling with you on the trip.
We can pay your overseas reasonable medical expenses if they are incurred outside Australia, due to an injury or illness sustained during your journey, if the expenses are incurred within 12 months from the date of injury or illness. We may also return you to your home at our expense if medical advice recommends it.
We can pay your dental expenses up to $1,000 (single); up to $2,000 (family), if they are incurred outside Australia during your journey, due to an injury sustained during your journey and we agree these expenses are necessary to repair the damage.
We can pay your reasonable accommodation and meal expenses actually incurred if your scheduled departure time is delayed by 12 hours or more and the delay is outside of your control, up to:
- $250 for each 12 hour period, to a maximum of $1,000 for a single policy;
- $500 for each 12 hour period, to a maximum of $2,000 for a family policy.
We can pay your reasonable travel and accommodation expenses actually incurred if your trip is cancelled before departure due to unforeseen circumstances outside of your control, like a volcanic ash cloud, and you cannot recover the paid expenses from anyone else.
We will indemnify you for loss, damage or theft that occurs to your personal baggage, clothing or personal effects during your journey. For single trip Holiday Travel Insurance, a maximum limit of $6,000 for all claims applies, including up to:
- $3,000 per item of electronic equipment
- $1,000 per item of sporting equipment
- $700 per item for all other items
For Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance, a maximum of $8,000 for all claims, including up to:
- $4,000 per item of electronic equipment
- $1,000 per item of sporting equipment
- $900 per item for all other items
If you hire a car and it gets damaged, this covers the hire car insurance excess, or cost of repairs if less than the excess, you are liable to pay, up to $2,000 for a single policy and $4,000 for a family policy. In order to claim under this cover, you must have taken out hire car insurance on your hire car, and the claim you make under the hire car insurance must be accepted.
Provides up to $5 million to pay compensation for death or injury to other people (other than your family or travelling companion), or loss or damage to their property that you are held legally responsible for.

Yes, for Holiday Travel Insurance the maximum journey is 12 months. For Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance, each trip can be up to 90 days.
It should be based on the day you purchase your policy.
There is no cover for claims arising from a pre-existing medical condition (defined on pages 63-64 of the Holiday Travel Insurance PDS and pages 66-67 of the Annual Mult-Trip Travel Insurance PDS) unless:
- the pre-existing medical condition meets the criteria under the Tier 1 category (pages 12-13 of the Holiday Travel Insurance PDS and pages 10-11 of the Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance PDS) which are automatically covered; or
- when you applied for your policy, you disclosed any pre-existing medical condition you wish to be covered for by providing the information requested by us for the condition at the time of your application, and we have agreed and endorsed your policy separately in writing to specify each pre-existing medical condition that we have agreed to cover.
Cover for the pre-existing medical conditions(s) will only apply after you have paid any additional premium that we require.
