Multi Policy Discount Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

  1. To qualify for the 10% multi-policy discount (the MPD) you must have 3 or more eligible paid personal insurance policies with AAI Limited trading as GIO. There must be a common mailing address and the person(s) seeking the discount must be nominated as an insured with the exact same name on each eligible policy.
  2. The eligible policies to qualify for the MPD are GIO Home Building, Home Contents, Landlord Property, Landlord Contents, Car (all levels of cover), Motorcycle (all levels of cover), Caravan (including trailer) and Boat Insurance (all levels of cover). GIO NSW CTP and GIO ACT MAI Insurance count as eligible policies, but you will not receive the MPD on these policies, as they cannot be discounted due to regulatory requirements.
  3. The MPD does not apply to the premium for optional covers - GIO Roadside Assist, GIO Home Assist or Excess-free Glass cover.
  4. If you take out a new policy and qualify for the MPD, you are eligible for the MPD on that new policy from its start date (if the discount is not applied at purchase, we endeavour to process the discount within 90 days from policy start date). You are eligible to receive the MPD on your other existing eligible policies from their next renewal date, provided you are eligible for the MPD and we still offer the MPD when we calculate your renewal offer.
  5. If you quote for a new policy via our website, we rely on your answers to our questions to establish eligibility for the MPD.
  6. Taxes and charges (eg GST and stamp duty) are not discounted. If you receive more than one discount, we apply each further discount to the already discounted premium.
  7. GIO reserves the right to vary or discontinue our MPD offer at any time and without notice.

Increase your excess

This will mean that, while your monthly or yearly premium may be cheaper, you'll need to pay a higher amount if you make a claim where you're required to pay an excess.

Eligible policies include Comprehensive Car Insurance, Home & Contents Insurance and Landlord Insurance.

Home

This refers to Home Building policies. If you have a combined Home & Contents Insurance policy, that counts as two, so a third policy — for example, your Car Insurance — would mean you’re eligible.*

Contents

This refers to Contents Only policies. If you have a combined Home & Contents Insurance policy, that counts as two, so a third policy — for example, your Car Insurance — would mean you’re eligible.
