Compulsory Third Party insurance (CTP)
Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Personal Injury insurance, provides protection to the vehicle owner and ‘at fault’ driver, against compensation claims from people injured in a motor accident.
CTP is required by all vehicle owners in order to register their vehicles in the ACT.
Compulsory Third Party insurance (CTP) forms part of the payment made to Access Canberra to register or renew the registration of your vehicle in the ACT.

Driver Cover Plus
GIO provides Driver Cover Plus with your ACT CTP insurance. Driver Cover Plus provides cover for specific serious injury benefits for eligible drivers.

^Cover provides specific serious injury benefits to eligible drivers. Available on passenger vehicles, utes and vans with GVM <4.5t only. Drivers under 25 are not eligible unless the vehicle is comprehensively insured with GIO.
