Are learner drivers insured to drive my car?
Learner drivers are automatically insured to drive your car under supervision and there is no need to list them on your policy while they are driving with a learner’s licence.
However, if a learner driver that is under 25 years old was driving, using or in charge of your car at the time of an incident and is at fault, an age excess will apply. If the learner driver was 25 years or over, an inexperienced driver excess will apply. These excesses apply in addition to any other applicable policy excess.
