Important things to know upfront
EXTRA SUPPORT (new section in your PDS)
Sometimes your circumstances might mean you need additional support or assistance in dealing with us. If you are comfortable, you can tell us about your situation, and we will work with you to arrange support.
We have updated the term ‘take reasonable precautions’ with ‘take steps to prevent loss or damage’. We have also included some examples of how you can take steps to prevent loss or damage, such as when the caravan is not attached to a vehicle, fit a coupling lock and secure the wheels.
WHEN YOU NEED TO CONTACT US
Additional situations for when you must contact GIO have been included in the PDS. For example, you must tell us as soon as possible if:
- you or any person who is likely to tow your caravan has their driving licence cancelled, suspended, disqualified or restricted;
- you or any person who is likely to tow your caravan has been charged with or convicted of a criminal act or offence;
- you have had policy cancellations or declines with other insurers.
