Employers have a duty of care, to ensure that their employees are not exposed to hazards in the workplace. An understanding of the hazard identification and risk management process will enable participants to function effectively in their roles as workplace supervisors, fulfilling their responsibilities for risk management.
This course covers understanding the ‘duty of care’ principle; the three basic principles of risk management: Identify, Assess, Control; and how to facilitate a risk assessment and complete a job safety analysis.

Supervisors Safety Belt – OSH Introduction
Legislation provides a basis for the minimum standard in Occupational Safety and Health in each state of Australia. Whilst we encourage all GIO clients to aim for 'best practice' which goes beyond just the legislative requirements, it is important that you have a good working knowledge of the Western Australian OS&H Legislation and how it applies to your business.
This seminar analyses how to access, interpret and communicate the OS&H Legislation relevant to maintaining a safe workplace; understanding how OS&H Legislation is enforced; and understanding the 'duty of care' requirements for specific positions and groups under the OS&H Legislation.
