GIO in conjunction with the National Safety Council Australia (NSCA) is pleased to offer the Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety. The course is designed to give participants a formal qualification and arm them with extensive and specialised knowledge in specific areas of occupational health and safety.
The Diploma is designed for OHS specialists and managers (middle and senior management levels); Human Resource specialists (responsible for OHS); and OHS consultants looking to increase their knowledge or gain formal qualification in OHS.
Participants must first complete a Safety Skills Assessment, demonstrating either a high level of OHS knowledge or have completed a Certificate IV in OHS. This diploma must be completed within 24 months.

GIO in conjunction with the National Safety Council Australia (NSCA) is pleased to offer the Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety. This certificate aims to give participants a fundamental knowledge of the basic role of an Occupational Health and Safety specialist.
It covers a broad range of functions and responsibilities in the workplace including identifying hazards, assessing OHS risks, implementing strategies to control OHS risks and evaluating an organisation’s OHS performance.
The Certificate IV in OHS is ideal for OHS practitioners and supervisors who can demonstrate an appropriate level of language and literacy by completing a Safety Skills Assessment. Students must complete the course within 12 months.

Run by the National Safety Council Australia, this course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out audits of an organisation’s occupational health and safety systems against defined audit standards. Upon successful completion of this course participants will meet the requirements for RABQSA Auditor Certification set by RABQSA International for standards covering Auditing, OHS Auditor and OHS Lead Audit knowledge areas. It is suitable for internal (1st/2nd party) or external (3rd party) OHS auditors, supervisors, managers, OHS representatives; anyone involved in OHS audits who is considering becoming a certified OHS auditor for any OHS system.
Successful completion of in-course activities, participation in practical onsite audit and final exam, will provide sufficient evidence for meeting course outcomes for the issue of a RABQSA International qualification. For a nationally recognised unit of competency, PUADEFOH001A, an additional post-course assignment will need to be completed, in consultation with the trainer.
