GIO performs well in NSW return to work measures

As at December 2010, GIO ranked as one of the top performing agents in NSW in a significant number of ‘return to work’ measures. This is according to comparative data contained in the December 2010 WorkCover Authority of NSW Scheme Agent Performance report.

WorkCover NSW publish Scheme Agent Performance reports on a bi-annual basis. These reports summarise the measures that WorkCover use to evaluate the performance of the seven agents that operate within the NSW scheme.

According to the latest WorkCover report (December 2010), GIO have displayed significant improvements in most return-to-work measures. WorkCover evaluate the return to work performance of scheme agents using the ‘Duration - average days of incapacity’ measure. This is effectively an average of how quickly agents are able to return injured workers back to work following work-related injuries.

“These are exceptional results and are significant for GIO as we strive to become the leading workers compensation claims business in NSW”, says David Hyslop, NSW State Manager Workers Compensation Claims.

“We have implemented some significant strategies to turn around our NSW workers compensation claims performance and the WorkCover data provides tangible evidence that our hard work is paying off. With the momentum that we have created I expect that these improvements will continue”.
