A GIO Commercial Motor Vehicle Insurance policy can provide cover against theft and accidents for cars used for business purposes. It also covers legal costs and damage to other people's property caused by your vehicle/s up to $30 million.

GIO Insurance is available in NSW, ACT, VIC, WA and NT.

Key features of Commercial Motor Vehicle Insurance

GIO provides two types of Commercial Vehicle Insurance cover:

Comprehensive Cover (Part A: theft or damage AND Part B: Legal Liability)
Legal Liability Cover (Part B only)

You can also choose to Pay by the Month. Fees and charges apply.

Commercial Motor Vehicle Comprehensive Cover^* (Part A and B)	Covers you for loss of or damage to the insured vehicle caused by an event in the period of insurance. Includes Legal Liability Cover (Part B) as outlined below.
Commercial Motor Vehicle Legal Liability Cover^ (Part B only)	Covers you for legal liability for damage caused to another person's property and legal costs up to $30M. Covers your legal liability for personal injury caused by the insured vehicle, and legal costs, to a maximum of $30M (provided Compulsory Third Party Insurance does not apply). Covers your legal liability for property damage or personal injury as a result of the insured vehicle carrying dangerous goods, to a maximum of $300,000 (we may allow this limit to be increased, subject to payment of an extra premium). Covers you up to $5000 for damage to the insured vehicle caused by an uninsured driver, provided you are able to identify the driver responsible and their vehicle.

Important Information

Queensland, South Australian and Tasmanian residents

GIO provides commercial motor vehicle insurance in NSW, ACT, VIC, WA & NT. GIO does not currently provide commercial motor insurance in Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania.

In Queensland you can apply for commercial motor vehicle insurance cover with Suncorp Metway Insurance Limited (Suncorp) (GIO's parent company).
In South Australia you can apply for commercial motor vehicle insurance cover with RAA Insurance Limited (RAA) (a joint venture between RAA and Suncorp).
In Tasmania you can apply for commercial motor vehicle in urance cover with RACT Insurance.
