CTP Greenslips (Compulsory Third Party Personal Injury insurance) cover you and those driving your vehicle against claims for compensation for injury or death if you injure someone in a motor accident. If you do not have a Greenslip, you could be liable for millions of dollars. CTP Greenslip Insurance is compulsory for all registered motor vehicles in NSW. In NSW, you must buy your CTP Greenslip before you can register your vehicle. The Roads & Traffic Authority (RTA) must receive confirmation of your CTP insurance when you apply for registration. You can get online quotes and pay for your CTP Greenslip. For full details about CTP Greenslips, please refer to our NSW Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Personal Injury Insurance Information Booklet (includes Driver At Fault Policy) (PDF, 250KB). |

CTP Greenslips and GST
GST registered business entities can claim an input tax credit (ITC) on the GST component of their CTP insurance premium.
If you are uncertain of your GST status or entitlement to claim ITCs, please discuss with your accountant, financial adviser or tax agent.
When you purchase a CTP Greenslip Policy, you will be asked "Is anyone entitled to claim an Input Tax Credit on this Greenslip". If you are registered for GST and you are entitled to claim an ITC you must answer Yes to this question whether or not you will actually claim the ITC.
