Why pay for everybody to be insured to drive your car?
GIO offers you our Named Driver option
If you and only one other person ever drive your car and you want Comprehensive car insurance that still has the great features and benefits GIO car insurance offers, then choosing our Named Driver option will help you save.
By selecting the Named Driver option you could receive a reduction on your GIO premium if you limit your policy to:
- 2 Named Drivers
- Both aged 30 years and older.
These two named drivers will be listed on your Certificate of Insurance.
In the event of a claim
Claims for accidental loss or damage (to your vehicle or to others people?s property) will only be covered if the person driving or in charge of your vehicle was, at the time of the event:
- A listed driver on your Certificate of Insurance or
- Not at fault (and we agree) or
- Was using your vehicle to seek emergency medical treatment and you can show us evidence of this or
- A commercial operator you pay for repairing, servicing or testing your vehicle or
- Working for payment as a car park or cash wash attendant or a valet.
Learner drivers are not covered unless the learner is aged 30 years and older and is listed on the certificate of insurance.
